Personally I find the zip file image upload process to be a pain. All of my email designs per client live in the same directory locally and share the same images folder (with the PSD's in there too). When uploading to CM, I always have to duplicate the images and then zip that, hoping I didn't miss any along the way. I also then have a separate zip file for each email, which is redundant for say, a newsletter series that has half the images always remain the same.
Here is my suggestion:
First we upload the html which we locate on our local machine via the file browser (as usual), then by combining this location with the relative image locations contained within the html file, the images are auto loaded.
Sure, provide a browser function for any images not found, but with this workflow, CM users will never have to upload another image (or zip file) again.
