Question about confirmation email

Hi Guys,
When a new subscriber is added via the API, does the subscriber always get a confirmation email from campaign monitor and can this be turned off?

I ask as we already send out a confirmation email from our web application with a lot of custom variables based around the users account and actions on the website. I do not want a second email being sent out annoying the user.

Hi Alan,

No, you don't have to have a confirmation email when people sign up to your list, it is totally optional and not on by default.
