I understand that CM is very protective about making sure that everyone provides an unsubscribe link. However, I am about to send out a campaign and that feature is actually being counter productive. The unsubscribe link is actually in a color that is very close to the color of the background so rather than being prominent it sort of blends in. I have tried normal CSS rules to try to change the color; but, it isn't working. What do I need to know about the way CM handles this so that I can get the unsubscribe link in a more contrasting color? Thanks for any input.

You can style the color of tour unsubscribe text like this
<unsubscribe style="color:#000; ">Your unsubscribe text</unsubscribe>

Works great. I would have never expected it since (as far as I know) <unsubscribe> is not a valid html tag. However, one can't argue with success. :) Thanks for the input.
