Can someone elaborate on these "test campaigns" mentioned in this link? I couldn't seem to find any where in the FAQs that explained what they are, how many you get, do they refill ever, can credits be used to replenish them?
Basically this question boils down to what are the implications if the API was used to handle individual user mailing?
What this means is the number of emails you can send with the API to 5 or less recipients before you're not allowed to anymore. I can't remember the exact number but I think it's (30 maybe?) Once you hit that number, we don't allow there to be any more 'less than 5 subscriber' emails to be sent and you'll have to send a full campaign.
The reason this is implemented the way it is, is to help curb API abuse. Obviously it would be a fairly simple affair to write a quick few lines of code and without such a limit, create a pretty awesome spamming machine. Since that is not in our best interest we had to do this.

Is this 30 total per account, or 30 per campaign? If I were sending out many campaigns I would like to send a test for each one.
The limit is per account. If you hit the limit just email support and we can take a look at getting it raised for you.
I would be looking to create an API based email campaign sender for a client. So once created they would be in charge of sending emails. Therefore it would be difficult to monitor when the tests have run out.
Are there any other options for me?
Unfortunately, not really. The best we can do is increase your limit and should you hit it again we'll raise it. If you have a guess as to how many you might use in say 6 months, we can give you as many as you need to only (hopefully) run into this issue at most, twice a year.

To clarify, the tests are really intended for developers while building integrations, rather than as part of the service offered to end clients.
Once you have everything setup and running, you'd not expect in typical usage for clients to send campaigns to 5 or less people (not terribly cost effective). Perhaps you are in a different situation?
